In this photograph, taken by Matthew D'Agostino for the White House Historical Association, a child stands at a miniature presidential podium on the South Lawn of the White House. This photograph was taken during the White House Easter Egg Roll, held on April 22, 2019. First Lady Melania Trump hosted the event, which included games like hopscotch, musical eggs, drawing lessons, tennis, and the Easter Egg Roll Race. Guests were also greeted by variety of costumed performers including the White House Easter Bunny, the PAAS Easter Bunny, and the Racing Presidents who are the mascots of the Washington Nationals baseball team. The first Easter Egg Roll at the White House was held in 1878, when President Rutherford B. Hayes opened the South Lawn to local children so that they could participate in egg rolling games.
